DOES HIV LOOK LIKE ME? SOUTH AFRICA CAMPAIGN VIDEO

The South African Ambassadors share stories of their hopes and dreams, triumphs and challenges. South Africans were living in country where their own president Thabo Mbeki (1999 to 2008) had an AIDS denialist as his health minister, and the effectiveness of HIV medications was questioned by his administration. Despite these challenges, the Ambassadors were able to accept their status and speak out even when even their own government wouldn’t. They bravely discuss gender-based violence and rape, misconceptions and denial, and the common goal of redefining the virus that has affected an entire generation.
